Land O’ Lakes, FL – (April 16, 2018) – Ridgewood High School is looking for former faculty and staff to participate in the school’s closing ceremonies event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22.
The organizers want current and past staff to gather at this event so alumni are able to walk the halls and see as many former teachers as possible, regardless of when they attended. Already, more than 700 people have confirmed their attendance, and more than 1,000 are expected. Anyone who knows former Ridgewood alumni or staff is asked to let them know that they are encouraged to join the festivities commemorating RHS’ 40-year history.
During the event, trophies, pictures, and other awards will be distributed to students and staff who earned them. A family fun area will include bounce houses and music. Other memorabilia, such as athletic and band uniforms, will be for sale at a low price. After the fun and open house portion end, a closing ceremony presentation will take place in the gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
Ridgewood is being converted to a technical high school. In August, the school will re-open as Wendell Krinn Technical High School, with opportunities to earn industry certification and college credits in 14 subject areas.
Many local businesses and families are providing financial and in-kind assistance, including Winghouse, which is providing food for the entire event. Donations are still being accepted.
Former faculty and staff who are planning to attend should call Cathy Tezber at (727) 774-3901, email her at ctezber@pasco.k12.fl.us, or complete the online RSVP at http://rhs.pasco.k12.fl.us/mform/view.php?id=76855. Ridgewood High School is located at 7650 Orchid Lake Rd., in New Port Richey.
