Additional Pasco Shelters Reach Capacity; Shelters to Begin Locking Down at Noon

Land O’ Lakes, FL – (September 10, 2017) – Pasco County Schools shelters will begin locking down at noon, so we urge anyone considering evacuating to do so immediately. The hurricane shelters located at Connerton and Sanders elementary schools and Mitchell High School have reached capacity for pets.  Oakstead and Pine View elementary schools have reached capacity for pets.  Mitchell also has reached capacity for evacuees. Evacuees can still seek shelter at one of the following shelters: Connerton, Double Branch, New River, Oakstead (no pets), Odessa, Pine View (no pets), Sanders, Seven Oaks, and Veterans elementary schools, Weightman Middle School, and Mitchell and Sunlake (no pets) high schools.  Schools with the most available space include Sanders, Odessa, Connerton, Pine View, Oakstead, Odessa, and Veterans elementary schools. Shelters previously announced as at capacity include:  Longleaf and Schrader elementary schools; R.B. Stewart Middle School; and Fivay, River Ridge, Wesley Chapel, and Wiregrass Ranch high schools (general population
