Land O’ Lakes, FL – (May 25, 2018) – Every Pasco eSchool 3rd grader scored a 3 or higher (considered proficient) on the Florida Standards Assessment reading exam, Sanders Memorial Elementary and Plato Academy scored 89 percent of students scoring a 3 or higher to lead all Pasco brick and mortar schools. First-year school Bexley Elementary School scored with 80 percent of its third graders scoring a 3 or higher. Fox Hollow Elementary showed the most improvement, moving up 13 percentage points, from 27 percent proficient to 40 percent proficient.
Imagine improved 12 percentage points (72 percent to 84 percent). Hudson and Trinity Oaks elementary schools both improved 8 percentage points (33 percent to 41 percent and 72 percent to 80 percent, respectively). Dayspring improved by 7 percentage points (70 percent to 77 percent), and Centennial, Odessa, and Seven Oaks each improved by 6 percentage points (46 percent to 52 percent and 79 percent to 85 percent, 75 percent to 81 percent, respectively).
Altogether, 16 out of the 48 Pasco traditional elementary schools with scores last year (33 percent) improved the percentage of students considered proficient or maintained the percentage from last year. Twenty-two percent (two out of nine) of Pasco’s charter schools with scores showed improvement in the percentage of students scoring a 3 or higher.
Overall, Pasco’s 57 percent average of students scoring a 3 or higher was the same as the state.
