Pasco Manufacturing Day Tours Rescheduled Thanks to Hurricane

Land O’ Lakes, FL – (October 12, 2016) – The Pasco County Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department is partnering with the American Manufacturing Skills Initiative (AMskills) and Pasco-Hernando State College for middle and high school student manufacturing tours in celebration of Manufacturing Day on October 14 and 28. These tours were originally scheduled for October 7, but Hurricane Matthew forced Pasco County schools to close. Each tour starts at approximately 10:15 a.m., and students will visit the following locations:   Date: October 14 School: Bayonet Point Middle CTE Instructor: Bill Hamrick Students: 40 Tour Site: AMskills at Fred K. Marchman Technical College, 7825 Campus Drive, Building D, in New Port Richey Date: October 14 School: Sunlake High CTE Instructor: John Martin Students: 45 Tour Site: Bay-Tech Industries - 13725 Byrd Drive, in Odessa Date: October 14 School: Sunlake High CTE Instructor: William Ahlgrim Students: 30 Tour Site: Pharma Works - 2346 Success Drive, in Odessa Date: October 14 School: River Ridge High CTE Instructor: Andrew Forsman Students: 25 Tour Site: Adams Arms, LLC - 1551 Gunn Highway, in Odessa Date: October 28 School: Centennial Middle CTE Instructor: Dalton Smith Students: 40 Tour Site: Nestle Waters - 4330 20th Street, in Zephyrhills Each group of students will participate in a behind-the-scenes tour, gain insight from managers, and interact with shop workers on the floor. They have been paired with tours that are similar to their CTE field of study. Additional tours may be scheduled, and there are similar student tours taking place in Hernando County.
