Why: The public library launched its Finch Robot program to help engage students and teach them computer coding over the summer.
How: Lacoochee Elementary has partnered with the public library in Dade City to bring a computer science-learning program. The Finch is a small robot designed to inspire and delight students to learn computer science by providing them with a tangible and physical hands-on learning experience in basic computer programing. The robot is about a foot long and is equipped with wheels, a variety of sensors, accelerometers, a pen mount on its tail. It’s a USB device programmable with Java and Python.
