Land O’ Lakes, FL – (July 11, 2016) – Pasco County Schools students who are getting summer meals from the free lunch bus again will receive free books Tuesday through Thursday, beginning Tuesday, July 12 and lasting through Thursday, August 4.
“It is important for students to continue reading over the summer break to maintain learning gains from the previous school year, so the district will once again load up a colorfully- painted bus with free books to distribute to those students,” said Superintendent Kurt Browning.
The books will be sorted into reading levels for pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade, 3rd grade through 5th grade, 6th grade through 8th grade, and 9th grade through 12th grade.
The book bus, which will be staffed by school board members, district employees, and local elected officials who are volunteering their time, will stop at each lunch bus location twice between July 12 and August 4, to distribute books to children.
The schedule displaying the days, times, and locations is attached. Volunteers will meet the book bus each day at the Central Bus Compound, located at 5346 Parkway Boulevard, in Land O’ Lakes. The book bus will meet the lunch bus at each school before departing for the stops listed below each school.
