Mitchell Grads-to-Be Are Going Back to Elementary School

Who: Graduating seniors from J.W. Mitchell High School and elementary students at Longleaf, Mittye P. Locke, Seven Springs, Trinity and Trinity Oaks elementary schools What: Graduation Visits When: Wednesday, June 1 10 a.m. – Mittye P. Locke, 4339 Evans Ave., New Port Richey 1:45 p.m. – Trinity, 2209 Duck Slough Blvd., New Port Richey 1:45 p.m. – Longleaf, 3253 Town Ave., New Port Richey 2:50 p.m. – Trinity Oaks, 1827 Trinity Oaks Blvd., New Port Richey 2:50 p.m. – Seven Springs, 8025 Mitchell Ranch Rd., New Port Richey Why: To encourage the elementary students to stay in school and graduate. How: The J.W. Mitchell High School students will wear their caps, gowns, cords and stoles as they visit their elementary schools. For the afternoon visits, the graduates will split into two groups according to which elementary school they attended. The elementary students and their teachers will line the halls and wave homemade signs of pride and encouragement for the seniors as they parade through the halls of their elementary alma maters.
