Land O’ Lakes, FL – (March 2, 2015) – Schools throughout Pasco County began the 8th through 10th grade computer-based Florida Standards Assessment in English language arts today, and most have not experienced significant problems.
Some teachers have had issues signing on to the AIR testing platform to begin their testing session, preventing students from being able to access the test. Some students who have successfully launched the exam have been kicked off in the middle of their test, and have lost their test information. Other students who have been kicked off while testing were able to retrieve their answers. In some cases, students have received an error message that cannot be explained.
The state has given school districts permission to suspend testing, but Pasco County has not suspended testing districtwide. If a school has experienced problems and has contacted the district’s Accountability, Research and Measurement Department, they have been told that they can postpone testing until tomorrow. At this time, we are aware of one school – Seven Springs Middle School – that has postponed the 8th grade exam until tomorrow.
