Land O’ Lakes, FL – (December 11, 2013) – Land O’ Lakes High School intensive reading teacher Marilyn Ling was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer two years ago. She has been receiving treatments since then, but unfortunately, Marilyn has had a setback recently.
LOLHS is holding a creative fundraiser to help Marilyn’s family with expenses. The fundraiser is called Links for Ling. For a $1 donation, the school is selling green and red paper links that will be used to build a chain that will be hung throughout the school. The fundraiser will be promoted in the culinary restaurant, too.
In conjunction with Links for Ling, Santa will be making an appearance at the school during lunches on December 19, in room 500. Students and staff can have a picture taken with Santa for $2 (individual) or $5 (for groups up to 5 people). All of the proceeds will go to Marilyn Ling and her family.
